Everyone has an opinion on your story… It gets loud

Life is busy, and everyone seems to have an opinion about what your story should look like.

Often times, we are too busy to bring intention into our lives. You know you want to elope with meaning, but you aren’t sure where to start and you’re so busy that you don’t know when you can be quiet to listen to what you want or even being to wrap your fingers around what a meaningful day to you could look like.

Or you’re moving so fast from work, to life, to event, to next event that you don’t have time to question who you are, or who you’ve become. You changed in the business and don’t know yourself anymore.

And on top of that everyone has an opinion.

Aunt Sally needs you to marry in a church. IG tells you that you need a certain diet or course to feel like yourself again. Your wondering if there is truth in these stories? Are you selfish to want something for yourself? The answer is no, you just haven’t had space to listen and be held in the listening. It’s almost impossible to hear what you want and what you want to author when you’re stressed or moving too fast. That’s where this process comes in. Luxurious planning, listening, and space to hear yourself think and remember what it is you want. What story you are living. You are the hero of your own narrative. This is where you find them again.

You're planning an elopement and well meaning family, traditions, and expectations are pulling you in every direction. You're navigating a personal transition while social media, advertising, and endless advice tell you what success, beauty, love, or happiness are supposed to look like.

The noise is constant.

Eventually, it becomes difficult to hear your own voice. When the body is overwhelmed, which it’s hard not to be in this day and age, it can become really difficult to go into our parasympathetic nervous system (the nervous system that allows us to be creative and discern our meaning, values and intentions). It can make you feel like a boat without a rudder.

What if one of the greatest gifts you can give your love story (for yourself or as a couple) is to be held in a space that allows you to ask… What story do I want to live? And then Embody It?

This process is designed to ask this question in a unique way for each person or couple who comes to Mythos Lens, this is a curated space to hold you as you play. A space of ease, creativity, curiosity, laughter, and play. Creativity is your birth right and can be an organic tool to give more meaning and intention to any of life’s transitions. This space is designed to see you and plan and hold all the details so you don’t have to, and you can just enjoy coming back to your story and being held as you explore what wants to come up.

So you can live your best and most authentic life in freedom and intention, outside of the opinions of others.

So I create intentional, low-stimulus spaces where you can slow down, get curious, and author the story you want to live, whether that's the beginning of a marriage, a season of healing, a celebration of who you're becoming, or simply a moment to remember yourself.

Using principles of narrative healing, we'll move through three stages together:

The Three Stages

Authorship

Through thoughtful conversation and personalized journal prompts, we'll uncover what feels true, what matters most, and the story you want to tell. I plan all the details and hold the nitty gritty so you don’t have to. You leave with a plan to enjoy your elopement or your session fully. This is more than just a consultation, this is creation. A space to be fully seen and supported.

Embodiment

You step into that story with your whole body. With your intentions for the day clearly written out and the planning all taken care of you are free to enjoy your elopement, narrative session, or celebration of love! Your only job is to be present and enjoy the day as you are supported fully.

Visualization

We'll create artwork that reflects you back to yourself with honesty, care, and intention. Long after the day is over, your photographs become reminders of the choices you’ve made, the love you chose, and the story you wished to embody.

Mythos =

The Greek word for the stories and legends a culture chooses to remember. Those stories shaped identity, values, and possibility.

So I leave you with one question:

What stories are you choosing to remember, and who might you become if you lived them on purpose?

Meet Your Guide!

The creator of the narrative photography experience with a background of over 5,000 hrs in storytelling, trauma-informed yoga, and coaching. My path has always been rooted in story, both living it and helping others explore their own. Today, I bring that work into photography, creating images that reflect who you are and the story you are choosing to live.

My passion, is to help people feel seen, free, and alive through creativity and intentional authorship so that they can live their best and most authentic story free of expectation, shame, or approval.

Hi, I’m Kate….

What Does a Narrative Photographer Do?

I support people intentionally telling their story before the world tells it for them.

Through photography, guided conversation, and embodied exploration, we create images that help you see yourself clearly, honestly, and with agency. So you can live the life you write, the life of the hero.

I call this process Unlocking Your Legend.

Why Does It Matter?

Have you ever felt trapped inside the story that was handed to you?

The story of the “good girl.” The story of masculinity. The story of your gender, your work, your role in the world.

If you’ve ever felt like you were living inside the wrong narrative, you are not alone. And you are not stuck there.

From the time we are young, stories begin shaping us. Sometimes they arrive as encouragement, sometimes as instruction, sometimes as quiet expectations about who we are meant to become.

“You must be pretty to be valuable.”
“Be a man.”
“You’re so talented.”
“Do unto others.”
The story of adulthood.
The story of parenthood.
The story of what love should look like.
The story of success.

These messages come through family, religion, culture, media, and the communities we grow up in. They become the first frameworks we are given as children, the first boxes we learn to live inside.

Many of these stories are loving. Some help us survive, or even thrive. But over time they can also become the boundaries of what we believe is possible. The narrative we inherit often suggests that these are the only stories we get. That this is simply who we are.

But that isn’t the whole truth.

Psychology and neuroscience both show that the brain is capable of change. Through experience, repetition, and meaning, we can reshape the patterns we live by. In other words, the stories we practice can change the paths we walk through life.

Every belief you hold lives inside a story. And the stories you believe shape how you move through the world.

The story you choose to tell can be the difference between living inside a book you hate, or living inside the tale of your dreams.

How you reshape your story is entirely your own.

And that is where this work begins.

The Narrative Photography method at Mythos Lens brings together several practices that help you reconnect with the story you want to live.

It moves through a simple arc:

Curiosity (A Conversation) – We begin by exploring whether we are a good fit and what story is calling to you right now.

Authorship (the Consultation) – Through consultation, guided questions, and reflective journaling, you begin to intentionally shape the narrative you want to step into.

Embodiment (Your Photoshoot) – During your photography session, you embody that story. You move, feel, and inhabit it in a physical way.

Visualization (Your Photo reveal) – Seeing yourself inside the story you created can be powerful. When an image reflects a truth you are claiming, it becomes easier to believe that life is possible.

Sharing (Your Art Delivered and shared) – You decide how your story is witnessed. Maybe it lives privately with you. Maybe you share it with your partner, your children, your community, or the wider world. Being seen in your story can deepen the chance that it becomes real.

These practices are supported by research in psychology and neuroscience, but this work is not therapy and it is not a replacement for therapy. Storytelling simply pairs beautifully with many paths of growth; therapy, coaching, somatic work, psychedelic integration, creative exploration, and personal reflection, to name a few.

Growth does not always have to be punishing.

It can be playful.
It can be creative.
It can even be pleasurable.

If you have forgotten that possibility, you are in the right place.

Mythos comes from the Greek word for story, the stories we tell in order to remember who we are.

The stories we repeat become the ones we believe.

And the stories we believe become the lives we live.

So the question becomes:

What story do you want to remember?

What Legend will you unlock?
