Mythos Lens By Kate:
My Dreams, Ethics & Commitments
A Letter to the Dreamers…
This is a letter to myself, and to you. It’s a reference I use to stay grounded in my personal ethics and to chart the path I dream my Mythos will lead me. It’s also an attempt to be transparent with you.
This is me writing my own story to you. I believe that when we are radically ourselves in this way, asking for what we want, putting our Mythos to paper, like calls to like. The more specific, the better.
Do you hear the same wild call to write your story intentionally as I do?
I’m calling out. Let’s talk, wild and beautiful human, about our shared and diverse Mythos.

My Ethics & Commitments
I am called to be a safe space, but I know I am not everyone’s safe space. I commit to being honest if we are not a good fit or if I cannot offer what you seek, and I hope you will offer me the same.
I am called to be strong and creative, to offer life in a dying world. I am called to be a woman who loves to age and who continues to grow in her art always, a woman who grows stronger and more in love with herself, her body, and her craft each year. I vow to be well-pleasured, hydrated, and self-loved, and to let others love me so that I have the capacity to give to this co-creation.
I am called to spaciousness, adventure, vulnerability, and growth. I am called to loving honesty and boundaries. Compassion without honesty and honesty without compassion are both abuse in different skins.
I commit to personal work so that I can hold myself in the role of leader and photographer. If I step out of that role, I will address it and find repair with you.
I commit to clarity of expectations and outcomes. I will communicate what is certain and what might change, and I will address it if things do need to shift.
I commit to making this a gift of creativity and love, not about my ego, but about co-creation and the love of being seen, in myself and in others.
I commit to giving back: financially, with my community, and with my art. I am committed to asking for what I am worth in this capitalist economy from those who can afford it, so that I can have the stability to continue to give. But I also believe everyone deserves to be seen, and we live in a world where so many of us are working three jobs just to make ends meet (me, for years). If my work resonates, please fill out a financial aid form and we’ll connect. I also offer free community offerings at least three times a year. Follow me on social media or sign up for my email list to stay in the loop.
“Hope is an act of resistance. Creating and playing together ignites the hope we all need to thrive.”
The Future-Now Dream of Mythos
I want to embrace my wild woman in this business, growing more and more wild, yet grounded in myself and in the flow of creativity each year.
I want this Mythos to give me space to sing, write, travel, and share creative and pleasure-based adventures with my loved ones more and more each year. These are all things I do now, but I want them to feel like sturdy roots being fed by constant rain.
Two weeks a month of minimum eight shoots.
Two weeks a month for editing and rest.
Travel 2-3 times a year for retreats that leave everyone feeling enough and seen. We will partner with local organizations I’ve met during my travels to give back to the communities we visit. We will offer discounts for locals and financial support for folks who want to attend but cannot afford it. All teachers will be paid, fulfilled, and feel heard, seen, and nourished. I love to travel, but so often we just extract from the communities we visit. I want to do this differently, to help us see ourselves, and one another.
Financially, I will be stable and able to give back. Mythos will be a multi-six-figure venture that gives monthly to my favorite local places. It will support the environment, local gardens, LGBTQIA+ folks, death work, prison abolition, folks leaving incarceration, mental health communities, libraries, and women’s safety (this includes all who identify as woman). These donations will be transparent on my social media and website.
I will also host regular community events where people can process being seen and learn to love themselves in front of the camera. These events will be affordable but no one will be turned away. They will focus on both the practical and emotional sides of being photographed. We’ll include light journaling, practical tips for posing, setting intention before being photographed, and exploring why you might love or hate photos of yourself.
Witchy Weeks:
Gatherings at local witch shops and cafes to take magical photos and remember the magic within.
Fantasy Retreats:
Smut setups with partners and actors. I’m dreaming of a paint scene from ACOMAF (if you know, you know 😉).
Grief Retreats or 1:1s:
Lana, my Death Doula co-creator- leads a grief meditation and movement, and I offer grief photo stations where you can bring items that represent what you are grieving, and together we create art.
Rites of Passage Retreats:
Time to process and reemerge remembering who you are, where you’ve been, and where you’re going. Guided by death doula and rite-of-passage space holder Lana.
Water Mythos:
Shoots where we reclaim our ancient selkie, mermaid, free selves. Shoots that grow beyond my expectations and dreams, leaving room for the unexpected, surprises, and things I can’t even begin to dream of yet.
Renaissance Fairs and Comic Cons:
Action stations where people see themselves reflected through their favorite characters. There is deep power in this.
Surprise Engagements:
My videographer best friend and I meet you at a beautiful destination to capture the Mythos of your love and magic.
Partnerships with Women and Healers I love:
To offer authentic and intentional photoshoots during their retreats. Partnerships with a women-owned and environmentally supporting printing press to offer prints of past art and of clients’ photoshoots so they can see themselves as the art they are every day.
